Crossover Elite Basketball – Spring/Summer 2026

Below is a tentative schedule we could play with a Crossover Elite 14u team:

Spring

  • April 10-12- CNR League Play (Ideally play one game each day)
  • April 17-19 – Recruitlook STL Showcase (Beal Center)
  • April 24-26 – KC Showcase (Homefield Courts, Kansas City, MO)
  • May 2-3 – CNR League Play (Ideally play one game either Saturday or Sunday)
  • May 8-10 – Prep Hoops Show-Me Showdown (Beal Center) **(Note May 10th is Mother’s Day)
  • May 15-17 – KC “Live” Showcase (Homefield Courts, Kansas City, MO)
  • May 16-17 – CNR Basketball Spring Tournament (We will play this event)
  • May 29-31 – Recruitlook STL Showcase II (Beal Center)

Note – If my Arsenal Hoops team goes to KC for the KC “Live” Showcase, we can either take the Crossover Elite team to KC or Coach Carter can stay back in St. Louis to lead the boys in the CNR Spring Tournament.

Recruitlook bringing a 2nd event to the STL area allows us to keep the boys local with the exception of the April 24-26 event.  In years past Recruitlook has only hosted one STL event, so this is a pleasant change to their schedule.

June

No activity to allow the athletes an opportunity to work out with their respective high school teams.

Not all high school programs include incoming Freshmen in their June workouts.  We’ll survey the group as we get closer and if enough players aren’t being given opportunities to train with their high school programs, we can entertain a CNR Summer League schedule vs. JV teams to compliment a tournament or two.

July – TBD on Player Interest

  • July 9-12 – KC Summer Showcase + Hoop Classic (Kansas City, MO)
  • July 16 – 19 – Hardwood Classic 2 (Kansas City, MO)
  • Or, pickup some CNR League Games vs. JV teams

Recommendation – My recommendation for 14u players / families would be to take the month of July off.  Use this time for your family vacations and focus on individual or small group skills training (Teson Basketball Academy, etc.).  Once your child gets into high school and if they are wanting to play year round after their Freshmen year you will likely be juggling hoops April – July.  Family vacations become extremely difficult to schedule.  If your child then plays a spring sport, you will likely lose any “Spring Break” you once had.  So take the month of July and early August to let your athlete decompress and focus on individual skill work.

The high school basketball season is extremely long and for most programs will start in September with Fall off-season conditioning and practices.  November 1 thru potentially mid March will be packed with high school practices & games.  Incoming Freshmen often struggle with the grind of how long a high school basketball season is and often “hit the wall” in mid January.  It’s actually a great thing to have them miss basketball a little bit so they enter the school season full of energy and eager to get back to work.  While it’s hard to imagine your child getting “burned out” on something they love, this little break will be pay off in mid January when your child is still excited to go to practice and full of energy to finish his first high school season strong.

CNR League Play – Any games we would play in the CNR League would be scheduled against high ranked teams or against 15u teams.

Any Recruitlook or PrepHoops event would involve at minimum 3 games and likely 4 games over the 3 days.

Cost – I’ve included a breakdown of the costs associated.  I’ve assumed we would play in the more expensive event the weekend of 5/15-17 for this estimate.  If we played in the CNR Tournament the weekend of 5/16-17 you would see a savings of $25 per player.  There won’t be a “stay and play” hotel requirement for the Kansas City events as my Arsenal Hoops teams will meet any hotel requirement needed.  You’ll be able to book your hotel of choice or stay with family / friends if that’s an option for you.  The cost breakdown below covers activity during April and May.

Date Event Team Cost Detail
4/10 – 4/11 CNR League Play Games  $             160.00 $80 per game
4/17  – 4/19 Recruitlook STL Showcase  $             450.00 Beal Center
4/24 – 4/26 Recruitlook KC Showcase  $             450.00 Kansas City
5/2 – 5/3 CNR League Play Games  $              80.00 $80 per game
5/8 – 5/10 Prep Hoops Showcase  $             550.00 Beal Center
5/15 – 5/17 Recruitlook KC Showcase  $             450.00 Kansas City
5/16 – 5/17 CNR Tournament  $             225.00 St. Louis
5/29 – 5/31 Recruitlook STL Showcase  $             450.00 Beal Center
Practices  $             198.00 (Assuming $11 per practice – 18 practices) – $11 is the fee All-American Athlete Charges per practice.
Coach Compensation (Carter)  $             752.50 (Assuming 23 games at $25 per game & 18 practices at $11.25 per practice).
Total  $         3,565.00
Cost per player  $             356.55 (Assuming 10 players) $331.55 (If we play the CNR tournament the weekend of 5/16-5/17)
*Recruitlook charges $400 per event but we would have to pay $50 extra to request no conflicts with my Arsenal Hoops teams.  The cost to make a schedule request was $100 per request last year but we’ll split it with Arsenal Hoops.  (I’m assuming they haven’t increased the schedule request fee.)
